Filing Trademark Application: 

  1. A Power of Attorney simply signed and stamped with the Applicant Company's Seal or rubber stamp.

  2. The list of goods or services to be covered.

  3. The meaning of the mark in Arabic, if any.

  4. Sixteen prints of the mark.

  5. A certified Extract of the Entry of the Applicant Company in the Commercial Register, or a certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation duly legalized up to the Sudanese Consulate.

Filing Patent Application:

  1. A Power of Attorney simply signed and stamped with the Applicant Company's Seal or rubber stamp.

  2. A certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation of the Applicant Company and its Articles of Incorporation duly legalized up to the Sudanese Consulate. A certified and legalized translation is required if the document is not in either the English language or the Arabic language.

  3. Three copies of the patent specifications and claims in English. Only an Arabic translation of the Abstract of the invention is required.

  4. Three sets of the formal drawings, if any.

  5. A certified copy of the Priority document if priority is to be claimed.

For filing the National Phase of a PCT application. The following additional information or documents are required:

  1. PCT filing number and date.

  2. Particulars of the application on the basis of which priority is claimed.

  3. International publication number and date.

  4. A certified copy of the PCT application.

  5. A copy of the relative international publication and search report, if any.

Filing Design Application:

  1. A power of Attorney simply signed by the applicant.

  2. The name, address, nationality and occupation of the applicant.

  3. Four representations (photographs or drawings) of the design or model on good quality paper; size 33 X 21 cm.

  4. The article(s) covered by the design and the material used in producing the design.

  5. A brief description of the design pointing out its novel aspects (one page).

  6. One copy of the specifications and drawings.

  7. A deed of assignment from the inventor to the applicant, if the applicant is not the inventor.

  8. The certificate of Incorporation of the applicant, legalized up to the Sudanese Consulate.

  9. A certified translation into Arabic of the contents of the application and its enclosures.

  10. A specimen of the material of which the Industrial design is made or a photographic picture or sketch drawing of the industrial design in color if possible or an architectural model or any other means of production which is shown by such representation.

  11. A certified copy of the priority document if it is to be claimed.

Filing Copyright Application:

  1. A power of attorney, simply signed

  2. Two copies of the copyright work or photographs in case of sculptures.

  3. Particulars of the applicant.

  • Are there any goods or services for which the mark can not be registered?
    - Yes, alcoholic beverages in class 33 can not be registered.

  • Does the specification of goods in any class limit the protection to the specified goods, or does it give additional protection to all the goods in the class?
    - No, it is not permitted the class headings.

    - Yes, it can be filed and within three months the documents must be completed.
